How to do an RV Roof Leak Repair that will last and won’t cost afortune…!!!

The core idea of RV camping is to bring together family and friends and create cherished memories. When you are on the wheels, you can roam anywhere along with the comforts of home. But a leaky roof can put an end to your good time creating a nuisance for you. Dealing with an RV roof leak repair is not that difficult if you have the right tools like Liquid EPDM.

Before you start

It’s very tempting to start carpeting your RV with liquid EPDM. But before you do that you have to find out underlying cause of water leak and may have to repair the underlying structure or roof deck. Water will take the path of least resistance and if there is the smallest opening it will find it. That’s why you need to thoroughly inspect the roof for leaks.

Do Some Cleaning

Clean your RV roof from dirt, debris, oil and any loose material. For this purpose utilize a power wash and make use of mild detergents. Avoid using petroleum products or harsh chemicals as they can cause some serious damage to rubber roofs.

Apply Liquid EPDM to the RV Roof Leaks

If you’re having the liquid EPDM in spray bottle, you can simply point the spray nozzle in the direction you want to apply liquid EPDM. The container will tell you how much is necessary but make sure the entire area is covered. But when the coverage area is large you need to apply liquid EPDM like a paint material using paint brushes, squeegee and nap rollers.

Wait a Day

Liquid EPDM waterproofs directly upon application but it needs a day to fully cure. If, rain is not forecasted you can leave your RV in the open under the sun otherwise place your RV indoors. Liquid EPDM best cures in the temperatures of 55 degrees or higher, anywhere less than 55 degrees it will still cure but will take more time.
